Slovak Courses -- Fall 2005
I've taught basic Slovak language and culture courses at several Pittsburgh-area colleges since 2001. These include Westmoreland
Community College, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Allegheny Community College of Allegheny County, and Pennsylvania Highlands
Community College (through the Slovak Heritage Association of the Laurel Highlands).
The courses I teach are noncredit and are designed to be enjoyable and interactive to give participants the ability to
use basic vocabulary and phrases. In these courses we also explore many other facets of Slovakia, including culture and tradition,
emigration, history, and current affairs in Slovakia.
The last course I taught was in the Spring of 2007. I've decided not to offer any courses at this time (Fall 2007), but
will consider teaching the course in the Spring of 2008. If you are interested in taking the course in either the Indiana
(PA) or Johnstown areas, please e-mail me at dragansk@yahoo.com.
